Senator Tuberville Raises Concerns About Islamic Extremism
U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville, representing Alabama, asserts that Islamic extremism is among the primary dangers threatening the United States and Western society.
In a recent tweet, he mentioned, “Although this statement is politically incorrect, Islamic extremists want every American dead,” and indicated he would discuss this issue on the Senate floor. Tuberville emphasized that addressing Islamic extremism is critical for national security.
During his speech, he reflected on the September 11 attacks, saying, “As you know, 24 years ago, nearly 3,000 innocent Americans were killed in a coordinated terrorist attack by Islamic extremists. Those of us who lived through that day still remember where we were when the plane struck the building. It’s haunting—there are individuals intent on destroying America, willing to sacrifice themselves for that aim.”
He also criticized the left’s reaction to issues concerning Islamic extremism, arguing that “everyone, especially feminist organizations, should be outraged about this horrific abuse of women,” yet they remain silent due to it not fitting their narrative. Tuberville pointed out the alarming violence faced by Christians in Nigeria, stating, “Over 62,000 Christians have been killed by Islamic extremist terrorists since 2000. This year alone, more than 7,000 Nigerian Christians were murdered for their faith.” He noted the stark contrast in media coverage regarding these events versus the ongoing situation in Israel.
According to Tuberville, an immediate step necessary in the U.S. is the prohibition of Sharia law’s enforcement. He stated, “If you want to come here and peacefully practice Islam while embracing American values, you’re welcome. However, if you think Islamic law should take precedence over American law, you should be expelled.” He concluded by asserting the importance of standing against such ideologies to protect American freedoms and identity, stating, “There is only one law in this country: the Constitution of the United States. Sharia law is anti-American and has no place in a free society.”
