This week, U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) and Katie Britt (R-Ala.) introduced a resolution celebrating the 60th anniversary of the University of South Alabama.Numberanniversary.
The University of South Alabama was founded on May 3, 1963, and has since awarded more than 90,000 degrees. In addition to its academic programs, the university boasts 17 Division I men's and women's athletic programs. The resolution recognizes the University of South Alabama's contributions to education and all that makes the university the “Flagship of the Gulf Coast.”
“The University of South Alabama has grown from an initial enrollment of 276 students to currently hosting more than 13,500 students annually attending more than 115 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through 10 colleges and schools,” the resolution states. “The University of South Alabama is distinguished by producing outstanding graduates in a variety of fields, including research, medicine, business, education, engineering, science, arts and athletics.” [â¦] [We commend] Celebrating the University of South Alabama's 60th anniversary and its many years of contributions to the state of Alabama and the United States.
