Support Grows for Tommy Tuberville’s Gubernatorial Bid in Alabama
U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville is steadily gaining endorsements from various organizations throughout Alabama as he prepares for a run for governor in 2026. On Wednesday, his campaign announced it had received support from the Alabama Associated General Contractors (AAGC), the oldest and largest non-resident construction association in the state, founded in 1920.
Tuberville (R-Auburn) expressed his gratitude for the backing, stating, “We are thankful for the support from our general contractors in Alabama. Joe Biden’s economic policies have led to increased prices and challenges for the construction sector. Luckily, President Trump will be back in the White House, working tirelessly to manage inflation and revive the economy. As governor, I will collaborate with President Trump to usher in a golden era for Alabama’s economy.”
The AAGC leadership spoke highly of Tuberville’s advocacy for the construction industry. Billy Norrell, CEO of Alabama AGC, remarked, “Alabama affiliate contractors take pride in supporting Sen. Tommy Tuberville for governor. He understands the construction industry’s needs and has defended us in the U.S. Senate. We look forward to partnering with him to foster a thriving building environment in Alabama through professional business policies.”
In addition, Tuberville has gained the endorsement of three significant Alabama business associations. The Alabama Business Council (BCA), the Alabama Forestry Association (AFA), and the Alabama Concrete Industry Association (ACIA) all praised his record of advocacy for business interests and his dedication to economic growth.
The Republican primary for Alabama’s Governor’s Office is scheduled for May 26, 2026.
