Tucker Carlson Discusses Terrorism and Hamas
Tucker Carlson, co-founder of the Daily Caller News Foundation, expressed his views on Piers Morgan Uncensored, stating that he considers “innocent organizations,” including Hamas, to be terrorist groups.
During the episode, clips circulated online, prompting various reactions, including from Republican Senator Ted Cruz. Morgan pressed Carlson on whether he believed Hamas qualifies as a terrorist organization. Carlson responded, “I think that the organization that kills innocent people, including Hamas, is a terrorist organization.” He emphasized the importance of clearly defining terms in discussions about such topics.
“Terrorism, to me, is the act of killing innocent people. If you do that, you’re engaging in terrorism,” he explained, pointing out instances where innocent victims, such as attendees of music festivals, have been affected.
The segment is part of a broader conversation that Carlson had with a former U.S. State Department publisher about Israeli and Palestinian relations. At one point, he raised concerns about Christians harming fellow Christians in Gaza, questioning how that aligns with Hamas’s ideology.
Morgan then asked Carlson whether Israel fits into his definition of terrorism. Carlson replied, “everyone is included,” which led him to reflect on his acquaintances in the U.S. who have participated in operations that resulted in the deaths of innocents. He added, “I don’t know if that makes them terrorists,” noting the complexity of the issue.
Carlson has been vocal regarding the repercussions of the Hamas-Israel conflict, particularly focusing on its effects on Palestinian Christians. In a prior interview, he highlighted that Israeli airstrikes had targeted the St. Porphyrius Greek Orthodox campus in Gaza.
