Tucson police investigate stabbing at Prince and Stone business

TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) — Tucson police say they are investigating a fatal stabbing incident at a business near the intersection of Prince Road and Stone Avenue on Tuesday, May 2.

Officers arrived shortly after 7 p.m. in response to a report of the stabbing and found Scott Lynn Booth, 42, injured in the parking lot, according to TPD. Before Booth was moved to Banner University Medical Center, officers administered first aid, where he died.

Officers detained the female suspect, 28-year-old Melissa Ann Ortiz, at the scene of the stabbing.

TPD says Booth and a group of men were stabbed after approaching Ortiz and another. was after that point.

Detectives charged Ortiz with second-degree murder. She is currently being held in the Pima County Jail on her $1 million bail.

Police continue to seek information in the ongoing investigation and welcome anonymous submissions at 88-CRIME.
