TUCSON, Ariz. — A regular meeting of the Catalina Foothills School District governing board was canceled Tuesday after the district called threats of violence and intimidation.

It is unknown what the threat was or when it took place.
“We are interpreting the threat of violence as directed against our board and administration in the conference room tonight,” district spokesperson Julie Farbarik said.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said sheriffs have received reports of threats and are aware of the district’s decision to cancel the meeting.
The incident comes at a time when tensions continue to rise about what is taught and what is acceptable in schools across the United States.
