After a sunny weekend, a cold front moves through Tucson, bringing gusty winds and subzero temperatures.
The National Weather Service issued a freeze advisory Wednesday from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m., according to the NWS.
Despite a cold start, temperatures warm up towards the end of the week. Starting Thursday, the high will return to his 80s.
And by Easter weekend, Tucson will be in late 80’s/late 90’s sunny weather.
A red flag warning was also issued for southeastern Arizona from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Gusts of wind and low humidity are expected during this time, increasing the likelihood of fires.
Because of the wind, the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality issued a dust pollution advisory for the Tucson metropolitan area.

People sensitive to dust pollution, including children, the elderly, and those with heart or lung ailments, should limit their level of exercise when going out on Tuesday, according to the PDEQ. It can irritate the respiratory system and aggravate chronic heart and lung disease.
To reduce dust pollution, individuals should avoid using fireplaces and wood stoves, avoid burning leaves and trash, avoid using gas-powered lawns and gardening equipment, avoid using leaf blowers, and use off-highway vehicles. Avoid and drivers should not exceed 25 miles. According to PDEQ, he’s speed per hour while driving on a dirt road.
Windy weather has also made containment of the Williams fire in Cochise County difficult. The fire started near Hereford on Monday afternoon and has spread to about 500 acres.
Two main structures and two to three ancillary buildings were lost in the fire, according to the Bureau of Land Management. After that, the evacuation was lifted, and now all roads are open.
As of Tuesday morning, the advance had stopped and the fire was contained by about 25%.
