Twitch’s Widow Felt The Need To Hard-Launch New Relationship Two Years After His Death

Alison Holker, widow of the late Stephen “Tucci” Voss, began her new romance with CEO Adam Edmunds in earnest on November 14th.

The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant shared a photo of the two of them together with a long caption. Holker was married to Twitch for nine years. The famous DJ, dancer, and choreographer, best known for her regular appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” passed away by suicide on December 13, 2022. My concern is not that she moved on, that’s her choice. The problem is a strange desire to make something so sensitive and completely unnecessary into a spectacle.

Holkar had already given a soft launch to their relationship by sharing an image on Instagram in August. It was probably a silhouette photo of her and Edmunds, the two of them holding hands. It may have been a gentle way of introducing the public to the idea that she was dating again. Perhaps she was sensitive about being seen with someone and this was her way of breaking the news.

A pair also appeared public Together at the 2024 New York Fashion Week in September.

However, a hard launch is fair game. Feedback has been positive, but why did she call on the public to consider this?

Don’t get me wrong. Holkar deserves to be happy. However, it seems to be happening at a fast pace, and some may disagree with me, but I don’t really think it’s information worth airing. Her husband committed suicide, and she, along with Wesley, Maddox, and Zia (the three children she shared with Twitch), have been given less than two full years to process the depth of that grief. This is a deep wound and a turning point.

Contrary to the unwritten rules of current social media, I don’t believe that everything needs to be shared. Twitch’s death still has a soft spot for many, and his immediate family is likely still feeling the effects of it. Even if she feels it is appropriate at this stage to get into a romantic relationship with another man, it is her personal decision and there is no need for the topic to be in the public domain.

I don’t blame the people who make her happy. So am I. I don’t blame the critics who think this is premature and too sensitive, because I agree with them too. There’s no right or wrong here, but there’s a lot of oversharing that leads to arguments like this, but it doesn’t have to be. It is possible to live your own life, so I encourage more people to try it. (Related: Official verdict into Liam Payne’s death: report)

My message is that you don’t need a hard launch. Social media can live without it, and I’m sure Holkar can too.
