Two board members took the oath of office and officially became members of the Mojave Community College Board of Trustees. Mojave County Superintendent Mike File led the ceremony at a board meeting held at the Bullhead City campus on Friday, January 13.

Dr. Diane Singer represents District 5, which includes portions of the Mojave Valley and Lake Havasu City. Candida Hunter continued as an Interim Board Member for two years, where he represented District 1, including Kingman, Hackberry, Peach, Springs, Littlefield, Wickieup, Traxton, Moccasins, and parts of North He Canyon. increase.

Dr. Singer is an experienced school leader and student-centered teacher who prioritizes equity for all students. She is the former Associate Dean of Proficiency-Based Curriculum and Assessment at the University of Massachusetts. She has been an educator since 1994 and has been on the faculty at the University of Massachusetts, Lake.

Hunter is Senior Director of Tribal Affairs for First Things First (FTF). FTF is a statewide organization that funds early education and wellness programs to help children succeed in school.

Prior to joining the FTF, Hunter was a member of the Hualapai Tribal Council and volunteered with the FTF Hualapai Tribe Regional Partnership Council and several other community groups. Hunter also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, focused on creating economic development opportunities for the Hualapai Nation.
