Two Colorado Suspects In Custody After Children’s Bodies Found In Sealed Container And Luggage: Report

Colorado authorities have detained Jesus Dominguez and Corena Rose Minjarez in connection with the deaths of two young children, NBC News reports.

Jesus Dominguez, 35, and Corena Rose Minjarez, 36, were arrested Monday on suspicion of being involved in the deaths of two young siblings. The children, identified as Jesus Dominguez Jr. and Yesenia Dominguez, were found dead in separate locations earlier this year. according to Go to NBC News.

Jesus, 5, and his sister Yesenia, 3, had been missing since the summer of 2018, but authorities didn't know until they were recently found. According to the report, no missing persons report had been filed for the children until the investigation began. Pueblo Police responded to a call about suspicious activity, which led to the first of these discoveries on January 20th.

Officers found a metal container filled with concrete inside the storage unit, and the girl's body was later discovered inside. Two days after the discovery, investigators identified the child as Yesenia, NBC News reported. The incident took a turn on February 6, when Minjarez's car was searched and the boy's body was found inside the luggage in the trunk. DNA tests confirmed the identity of the deceased as the Dominguez brothers. Dominguez has been identified as the children's father, and his partner, Minjarez, is not related to the children. according to Go to 9 News.

The two are currently charged with murder, missing person, Colorado, and abuse of a corpse. NBC News reports that both suspects are being held on $2 million bail, according to Pueblo County jail records. Dominguez also faces additional charges of theft of government benefits, according to NBC News.
