Two-Time Failed Presidential Candidate To Teach Ivy League Course On ‘How To Run A Political Campaign’

According to the description, Chris Christie, the former Republican governor of New Jersey and failed presidential candidate, will be teaching a course at Yale University on how to run for public office.

Christy is Was The governor, who served from 2010 to 2018 and withdrew from the 2016 and 2024 presidential races, will teach “How to Run a Political Campaign” in the fall 2024 semester. According to Add to Catalog This course provides students with one credit and is offered as an elective once a week.

“Political campaigns in the 2020s are more technology-dependent, more confusing and challenging from a communications perspective, and full of pitfalls and personal challenges,” the course description reads. “When deciding which office to run for, you must confront all of these issues in addition to the core considerations of issue positions, fundraising, and the most important question: 'If elected, what do I want to accomplish and what kind of leader do I want to be?'”

Christie, a frequent critic of former President Donald Trump, ran for president in 2016 but withdrew from the Republican primary in February after finishing sixth in the New Hampshire primary. “This course will explore all of these issues with direct input from experts who have faced all of these issues as candidates themselves, and the expert practitioners helping them win at the local, state and national levels,” the course description reads.

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton began her tenure in February 2023 as Professor of Practice at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and Presidential Fellow at the Columbia World Project.

Yale and Christie College did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
