U.S. Senator Katie Britt endorses Caroleene Dobson for Congress

Republican candidate Carolyn Dobson in Alabama's newly created 2nd Congressional District has won the endorsement of U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, according to an early morning campaign announcement, just hours after officially clinching victory in the runoff election.

On Tuesday night, Democratic voters selected Shomali Figures, a Mobile native with historical ties to Alabama politics and the civil rights movement. Republican voters chose Dobson, whom Sen. Britt (R-Montgomery)'s campaign described as “an outstanding lawyer, wife and mother.”

“I am pleased to endorse my friend Carolyn Dobson for Congress’ next seat in the House of Representatives for Alabama’s Second District,” said Senator Britt.

“She always puts Alabamians first and is a strong advocate for common sense, which is a rare sight in Washington these days. As a resident of this district, I know Carolyn will work tirelessly for secure borders, stable prices and safe streets, protect women and families, and ensure opportunity for all Alabamians and that no one's zip code can stop them from living the American Dream. Victory in November starts today. It's time to send Carolyn to Congress.”

“The November 5th general election will be extremely competitive, and Senator Britt is calling on all Alabamians to rally behind Dobson early and commit their time, talent, voice, energy and resources to help win this critical race,” the statement said.

He then attended Baylor University Law School where he graduated cum laude and served as articles editor for the Baylor Law Review. Dobson is a member of the Alabama State Forestry Commission, an active member of the Federalist Society, and serves on the board of directors of the Southeast Livestock Exposition.
