verde valley news – Dr. Rodolfo Martinez Morales, Santa Cruz County Extension Director at the University of Arizona, spoke about regenerative agriculture and its potential to increase sustainability as part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s free “Munk & Learn” program. The discussion will take place on Thursday, January 30th from 12:00. From 1:30pm to 1:45pm at Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus.
As the UA Extension Director for Santa Cruz County, Dr. Morales develops strategies that integrate regenerative agriculture and ecosystem restoration to strengthen small-scale agriculture. His theme for January 30th is “Regenerative Agriculture as a Strategy for Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Landscapes.” He is an expert in crop and soil science, working in agricultural development and ecology, and has expanded his research into plant and soil ecology, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable landscapes.
Dr. Morales’ presentation will take place in Room M-137 of Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive in Clarkdale. The “Learn to munch” program is free and open to the public. Produced by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Yavapai College/Verde Valley Campus, “Munk & Learning” features a variety of topics related to developments in science and the arts as well as community issues. “Munch & Learns” will be held at Yavapai College on Thursdays, 12:30pm to 1:45pm, through March 5th.
