Megan Kelly Reacts to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Verdict
On her show Wednesday, Sirius’s Megan Kelly discussed the recent verdict in the Sean “Diddy” Combs case. She emphasized that if Hollywood tries to welcome him back, it will be her “mission” to remind everyone of his “humiliation.”
After a seven-week trial in New York, the jury found Combs not guilty of conspiracy and two sex trafficking charges, but he was convicted on two counts related to using transportation for prostitution. During the show, Kelly cited a New York Times article that outlined Combs’ behavior in court.
She quoted the article, mentioning how Combs appeared distressed at the thought of returning to prison, saying, “Ah, that’s all part of the unsettling atmosphere for abusers who feel they can still walk freely in our city.” Kelly expressed disbelief at this situation.
“I think it’s outrageous that he seems to have gotten away with so much. I mean, he really did some terrible things. He definitely harmed Cassie and, apparently, others too,” she added. “In California, if you don’t file a battery claim within a year, you lose your chance to pursue it. So it’s kind of tricky if you’re trying to get justice.”
During the trial, 34 women testified, including Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who claimed she was drugged and forced to attend one of his parties.
Kelly also mentioned an incident involving Clark Capricorn, a former aide of Combs, who allegedly faced death threats related to Combs’ actions towards rapper Kid Kudi. There were reports of a car bombing tied to this conflict.
Kelly expressed her belief that Combs was indeed behind the arson of Kudi’s car, citing what she considered “sufficient evidence” from Ventura’s communications.
“There was testimony from a male escort who heard abuse happening. It was disturbing. She was screaming out. You just think, what is going on?” she reflected.
Legal expert Arthur Adara joined the conversation, questioning Kelly about whether she thought Combs could still be accepted in Hollywood. Kelly reiterated that she sees it as her personal duty to keep his actions in the public eye, insisting that many still view him as a respected figure despite the serious accusations.
“This situation is complex. Cassandra Ventura comes across as a very credible witness. It doesn’t fit the narrative that she’s somehow faking this,” Kelly added.
After the verdict, some fans were seen pouring baby oil on each other outside the courtroom, an odd celebration linked to a discovery made during a raid on Combs’ house in 2024.
