Michigan Republican Senate candidate Sandy Pensler announced during Trump's Michigan rally on Saturday that she was suspending her campaign in support of Trump-endorsed Rep. Mike Rogers.
“My campaign has always been about making America better, and the best way to do that is to implement President Trump's policies,” Pensler said at a rally before endorsing the Republican vice presidential nominee. “To do that, we need to take control of the Senate. A divisive primary campaign would hurt that chances. That's not good. So tonight, I'm doing the right thing and withdrawing my support for the Senate.”(RELATED: 'A total miracle': Trump's White House physician gives medical update after shooting)
President Trump endorsed Rogers in Michigan's Republican primary for Senate in March, when he was one of three former House members encouraged by the National Republican Senatorial Committee to run to replace Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
“President Trump has endorsed Mike Rogers,” Pensler said. “And I agree tonight.”

“We're going to fight tooth and nail to save America and get Donald Trump and Mike Rogers and the other Republican candidates elected,” Pensler said. The two joined each other onstage after Trump's speech and embraced shortly after Pensler announced his endorsement.
Pensler said he was inspired by former President Donald Trump's moving tribute to Corey Comperatore, a former firefighter who was killed during an assassination attempt on Trump by Thomas Crooks on July 13. At the Republican National Committee convention on Thursday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trump paid tribute with Comperatore's helmet and firefighter's uniform on display on stage.
“I was so touched when President Trump kissed Corey Comperatore's empty uniform,” Pensler said. “It immediately reminded me of the time a few days after 9/11, when I hugged the sole survivor at my local fire station and looked down at 12 empty uniforms. Thank you for honoring them as well.”
“We're uniting the party, and that's a great thing to see,” Trump said after Pensler's announcement.
