The Lake Havasu City Police Department is investigating a shooting involving a police officer that occurred Friday night (January 27, 2023) at the Silver View RV Resort on Silver Creek/Gold Rush Road in the City of Bullhead.
After a 7.5-hour standoff with law enforcement, a barricaded, armed male suspect emerged from a trailer and was taken into custody.
The suspect opened fire on police multiple times, and several officers opened fire. One of the bullets shot by the suspect reportedly went through a nearby trailer and hit an innocent bystander. The victim is being treated at a hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada and is reportedly in stable condition. No officers were injured.
Details will be announced by the LHCPD. It is standard protocol to have an outside agency investigate shootings involving police officers.
