US Reaches Terms With Russia, Ukraine On Black Sea Shipping Ceasefire Deal

According to Reuters, the US brokered contract was announced between Russia and Ukraine on Tuesday.

One agreement provides for both Russia and Ukraine to ensure safe maritime voyages in the Black Sea, while the other lays the foundation for banning two war states and stopping them from attacking each other’s energy infrastructure. According to Reuters, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov confirmed that Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a freeze on attacks targeting Russia’s energy infrastructure.

US officials are trying to advance peace efforts with representatives from Saudi Arabia from Russia and Ukraine to end the war three years ago. President Donald Trump made the Russian-Ukraine war a major early priority for his administration.
