PHOENIX — Last week, the US Department of Agriculture announced nearly $66 million in federal grants to support rural development in Arizona.
The funds will be used for jobs, healthcare and infrastructure as part of the state’s Rural Partners Network.
17 projects Receive funding in a grant of up to $52,579,000 to help Sun Life Family Health Center, Inc. build a new medical facility at Casa Grande.
Other projects receiving grants include water system improvements in Tacna and Kearny, expansion of health facilities in Somerton, tribal water utility training, expansion of the Ajo Business Support Center, and construction of approximately 47 homes in Yuma County. These include home renovations and superior wastewater treatment improvements. .

Across the country, USDA Undersecretary of Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small announced $262 million in funding for the project.

The Rural Partners Network was launched in April as a way for federal agencies and commissions to work with rural communities to provide resources.
