YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – The American Powerlifting Association hosted the USPA-licensed, drug-tested powerlifting classic Yuma on Saturday.
The all-day event was held at Foothills’ 4th Ave Gym with two weigh-in schedules.
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- 16:00-18:00
According to the USPA, their goal It is to ensure that lifters are “provided with the opportunity and space to showcase their efforts in a safe and competitive environment.” The USPA also says it offers opportunities for a range of lifters, from beginner to elite level.
The lifter won awards based on five different classifications.
- Open
- Junior Level 13-23
- Submaster level 35-39
- Master level 40 or higher
- best lifter
Whoever wins each prize category will qualify for the 2023 Drug Tested National Championship, which will be held in Las Vegas from July 10th to July 14th. Click for more information on the USPA and its events. here.
