PHOENIX — Dry conditions are forecast for the Valley, but high pressure is developing and temperatures are rising for Father’s Day.
Winds will pick up across Arizona tomorrow and Monday. Expect gusts of 30-35 mph in the valleys and gusts of 40-55 mph in the highlands.
a wind warning It was issued to Mojave County all day Monday. Southwest winds will blow 25 to 35 mph, plus gusts of up to 55 mph. Strong winds can blow around unsafe objects, knock down tree branches, and cause several power outages.
a fire weather monitoring The order was issued all day Monday for parts of Yavapai, Coconino, Apache and Navajo counties. Southwest wind speeds 20-30 mph, gusts 40-50 mph. Relative humidity is around 10%. The combination of high winds and low humidity can rapidly increase the size and intensity of wildfires.
High temperatures in Father’s Day Valley will range from 106 to 108 degrees. Early morning lows will be in the high 70s.
It looks like it will still be hot next week, but the temperature will drop a few degrees if the wind continues in the afternoon.
The 2023 monsoon has officially arrived, but there is no sign of rain in the Valley.
