The Cybertruck that exploded in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas made stops in Holbrook and Flagstaff on New Year’s Day, the day of the incident. Federal authorities say the truck was rented in Denver on Dec. 28 using the rental platform Turo. The renter, 37-year-old Matthew Libersberger, was found dead with severe burns inside the car after the explosion. ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kenny Cooper said the Tesla was charged in Monument, Colorado, where Libersberger legally purchased two semi-automatic handguns. The Cybertruck passed through Colorado and New Mexico, stopping for charging along the way. Then on New Year’s Day, federal officials said the truck made early morning stops in Holbrook, Flagstaff and Kingman and arrived at the Trump Hotel at 8:39 a.m. After Libersberger parked at the hotel, federal officials said. He shot himself just before the truck exploded. Seven people were injured in the explosion.
