KeKe Palmer's mother said she felt a strange vibe while on the set of Dan Schneider's Nickelodeon show.
Schneider and other staff members have been accused of harmful behavior and sexual harassment on the set of the Nickelodeon children's show, and Sharon Palmer recounted her experience on the Aug. 6 episode of “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.”
“I'll be honest with you, I thought the whole vibe on Dan Schneider's set was really weird, really cult-like,” Sharon said.

She went on to say that she was not impressed with the general atmosphere, including those she was close to while on set with Keke.
“My parents were very secretive and I honestly thought everyone took themselves too seriously,” she said.
Sharon said she felt stressed and nervous during her stay.
She then addressed the sexual abuse allegations made by Drake Bell that were featured in the documentary series “Quiet on Set.”
“When I heard Drake's story, it just broke my heart,” Sharon said on the podcast, “because I see how his parents were framed, I see how it was set up.”
Keke weighed in, saying she sympathizes with those who have been allegedly victims of abuse, but clarified that fortunately, that was not her experience. She thanks Sharon for looking out for her early on in her career. She also said that her mother had always been uncomfortable with Schneider and Nickelodeon in general.
