Victor Davis Hanson, a senior Hoover Association fellow, told Newsmax on Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s counter-revolutionary tactics could disrupt Democrats for generations.
Trump’s current counterrevolutionary tactics include a comprehensive policy overhaul targeting the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program across federal agencies, including the demolition of the Department of Education established under previous control and policy reversal. When he appeared in “Finnerty,” Hanson said President Trump was a fundamentally different kind of leader and was restructuring the Republican strategy.
“I don’t think they understand Donald Trump. He’s not George W. Bush. He’s not Mitt Romney. He’s not John McCain. He’s not satisfied with slowing down the administrative state and neo-socialist growth,” Hanson said. “He’s a counter revolutionary. Yes. And he says economically, politically, socially, military-based. The country is moving left and I’m going to bring it back to the centre.

Hanson went on to say that the current lack of important political power for Democrats — the Supreme Court, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the presidency — leaves them with limited tools.
“They didn’t think Republicans had the courage or courage to do it, and he does. He’s serious. And now they think, ‘My God, the guy is really serious. He can really confuse us for a generation,” Hanson said. “And we have to stop him by the necessary means. We don’t have a Supreme Court. We don’t have a home. We don’t have a Senate. We don’t have a White House. We don’t win the popularity vote. We don’t win the election. [College]but we have no political power other than the streets and our mouths. ”
Hanson didn’t write words out when describing the Democratic Party’s ongoing struggle. Democrats continued to escalate their rhetoric and behavior despite their perception of factors that reduce their public appeal.
“Usually, every party self-corrects. They did it after George McGovern. They did it after Jimmy Carter, and they were totally centralized with Bill Clinton, or at least they pretended to be centrism. “It’s like a mixture. I think I’m calling it smutchic all the way to terrorist porn, because they’re either cutting videos of the senators saying shit, or calling Elon Musk a penis, or calling this horrifying language.”
Hanson said Democrats’ increasingly provocative media tactics will surprise everyone.
“So I don’t think there’s a bottom in it. But if they’re more and more porn, more and more and more and more participating, if we all have terrorism, then it will surprise us all every day.” (Related: “I’ve never seen anything like this”: A key voter group that flees Democrats says it’s from FMR Clinton pollers)
Hanson’s statements lead to tensions flaring on both sides of the aisle. During a recent House Oversight Subcommittee hearing on NPR and PBS funding, Democrat Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, smashing Republicans with a series of lets, expressing her frustration under the chairmanship of Republican Margiley Taylor Green.
To further oppose Trump’s agenda, a coalition of national democratic organisations, including the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Election Commission and the State Democratic Association, have launched a “People’s Knowledge” tour. They focus on Republican-owned districts across the United States following major Democrat losses in the 2024 election, when Republicans ruled the White House and Congressional rooms.
Democrats have formed resistance against Trump’s policies, targeting the efficiency of the government, led by Elon Musk, who has cut the number of employees at federal agencies.
