Video Appears To Show Shocking New Angle In Alleged Fight That Led To Country Star’s Arrest: REPORT

Lawyers for country music artist Chris Young have filed a lawsuit against him after newly released surveillance video provided by WKRN News 2 appears to show new aspects of the alleged fight that led to his arrest. They are requesting that the charges be dropped.

According to TMZ, Young was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct after an alleged altercation with a member of the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) at a bar on January 22nd. Young then appeared to stand up and raise his hands in the air in a surrender motion. He was then handcuffed and taken into police custody, according to WKRN News 2.

“What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong and he should never have been arrested and charged in the first place,” he was quoted as saying. “In light of the video evidence, ABC of Tennessee needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional, and professional harm it caused my client.”

“This matter is pending in Davidson County General Court and we are unable to comment further at this time,” a TABC spokesperson told FOX News Digital.

Alcoholic Beverage Commission officials reportedly claimed in an affidavit that they entered the tin-roofed bar around 8:30 p.m. for an inspection. The affidavit alleges Young began recording while asking a series of questions, according to FOX News Digital.

Agents reportedly said in the affidavit that they moved to the Dawg House bar next door. They allege in an affidavit that Young blocked the exit and punched the officer, which also involved bar patrons, according to the newspaper. They reportedly claimed they had to be restrained in restraints as Young's associates allegedly became confrontational, according to the affidavit. It is unclear whether TABC will drop the charges based on new evidence emerging in the case.
