According to ABC7, security camera footage appears to show a man attacking a woman in the lobby of a Brooklyn building around 11 p.m. on Thursday.
The victim, a 25-year-old woman, was caught on video entering her building, The Outlet. Reported.
In the video, a woman is seen entering the building's lobby and is then seen being followed by the suspect, who then walks toward a mailbox and up a flight of stairs, before the suspect is seen pressing the elevator button slightly behind her and then walking away behind her. The suspect appears to approach the woman from behind and then put his arms around her neck in an attempt to choke her. The woman told police she cried out for help while the man was choking her, according to ABC 7. The man allegedly told her to “shut up,” according to the station.
The victim is seen kicking and fighting back against the suspect who is apparently choking her. The suspect then appears to release the victim and walk away, according to the footage. The victim was not physically injured and was able to call 911 immediately after the attack, the media outlet reported.
“In the pictures I saw, he was literally five feet behind her, it's unbelievable,” an anonymous neighbor told ABC News.

“I was honestly very nervous and scared because I always walk my dog there too. It makes me think again about how I get around in the neighborhood and in general,” a local resident told the outlet.
“A lot of strange things happen in this building. I've been followed myself before,” resident Carlos Vasquez was quoted as saying, referring to other troubling incidents.
According to the media, the suspect remains at large.
The New York Police Department declined to comment to The Daily Caller.
