Drone footage showing the aftermath of a massive train derailment in Arizona was caught on a freight train “carrying a variety of new cars, vans and trucks,” emergency officials said.
A BNSF-operated train derailed at around midnight Wednesday in Williams, a suburb of Flagstaff, according to the Coconino County Emergency Management Authority (CCEM).
“A total of 23 vehicles derailed and were badly damaged. The vehicles involved included a variety of new cars, vans and trucks,” Coconino County officials said. “No one was injured or killed in this incident. Clearance work is currently underway.”
Drone footage showed the cars sandwiched between each other, blocking both directions of the track.

Images released by CCEM also show a truck trapped under one derailed vehicle.

Fox10 Phoenix said the train was traveling about 80 mph when it derailed.
The incident happened Thursday, the day before a freight train rammed a stranded semi truck at a railroad crossing in North Carolina, and was captured on dramatic video.
The large rig was stuck at a railroad crossing on Wingate’s Main Street when a train approached at 5pm.

In a video shot by Malik Jordan, the train could be heard honking its horn before hitting the track.
In the “Yo Yoo!” video, Jordan can be heard screaming as the exterior of the truck is shattered by a speeding train.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office said no injuries were reported despite the climate change-induced clashes. The department added that the semi-truck driver was able to get out of the truck before the crash.

Police said the truck was wrecked in the crash, but said it was carrying no dangerous goods at the time of the crash.
In the comments section of a Facebook post from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, residents complained that this wasn’t the first time a semi truck had gotten stuck on the tracks. Earlier this year, in January, two semi-trucks were rear-ended at the same intersection within a week.
