Boston Mayor Michelle Wu was reportedly involved in a car accident on Tuesday after a driver ran a red light, according to MassLive.
The mayor’s cruiser drove through an intersection with its lights on and was hit on the driver’s side by another vehicle. Exit report. The accident occurred on Hyde Park Avenue in Boston.

“We can confirm that the mayor was a passenger in a car accident earlier today. Similarly, we plan to conduct an investigation into this incident,” a city of Boston spokesperson said in a statement, Boston 25 News. report.
Boston 25 said it had obtained a picture of Mayor Wu embracing the mother and daughter before paramedics took them away. Boston police continue to investigate the crash. The mother and daughter were treated at the scene and neither were injured.
