Video Shows First Responders Rescuing Semi-Truck Driver From Vehicle Dangling Off Bridge

Video shows first responders extricating a semi-truck driver from his vehicle after it was dangling from a bridge that spans two states Friday.

First responders descended on the driver around 12:30 p.m. and pulled him from the semi-truck, which was hanging over the Second Street Bridge, which connects southern Indiana to Louisville, Kentucky. Kou 11 report.

The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) confirmed that the driver was safely extricated from the vehicle's cab, the newspaper reported. The bridge, also known as the Clark Memorial Bridge, was reportedly closed due to the incident, according to LMPD.

The vehicle remains dangling from the bridge, KHOU 11 reports. The cause of the crash is reportedly unknown. Two more vehicles were involved in the accident, the newspaper said. One person is reportedly hospitalized.

This is not the first time emergency workers have saved the life of a truck driver who was trapped dangling from a bridge. In May 2023, a truck driver and his son were killed in a tractor-trailer hanging on a section of Interstate 44 when their vehicle struck a guardrail and was trapped inside, KOCO reported.
