We hear a lot about the dangers of AI. It’s coming for our work. It is exploited by scammers and perverts. At worst, it can become a powerful tool for censorship. But there are also some advantages. Vigilante groups have figured out how to use AI to hunt pedophiles in their communities.
The Daily Caller’s new documentary, “Pedo Hunters,” follows two vigilantes as they ride together to capture their “prey.” And we’ll give you an inside look at how we use AI to make it happen.

Now on “Pedo Hunter,” the Daily Caller’s investigative team joins Josh and Jay as they hunt down pedophiles across the country.
Josh originally wanted to be a teacher, but after sitting next to a man in a university class who sexually assaulted his stepdaughter (he was released by the system), he knew he needed a career change. . He decided to take the law into his own hands.
Jay himself experienced sexual assault as a child. However, when he confronted his abuser as an adult, things quickly deteriorated.
They both agree on their love for children and that they are “tired of waiting for the police.” In 2021, they decided to form DAP “Dad’s Against Predators”. Inspired by the failed system, they have now made hunting would-be pedos their full-time job, recording their “hunts” and posting them on YouTube.
You’ve probably seen their videos on YouTube, which have millions of views. They create a “decoy profile” during the date that tells the man that they are underage, and if the man still doesn’t mind, they set up a time to meet in a public place like Target or CVS. The situation often turns ugly when the prey encounters what appears to be a 13-year-old girl or boy. Hostile conflicts can quickly turn violent. This is the side they show to the world. What you don’t see is how the sausage is made. And like many things these days, that process relies on AI.
Josh demonstrates how he creates younger versions of himself to send photos to would-be pedophiles.
“We use an AI app to make them look younger,” Josh explained. “We’ve been catching people pretending to be 9 years old, because technology these days allows us to do amazing things. . . . It shows us things that are truly magical.” [of AI]”
After taking an old selfie as usual, he transforms into perfect bait for pedophiles.
“I’ll try to make the face a little smaller.” . Let’s shave off the beard. ” He digitally changes facial expressions, tweaks lighting, Completion“That’s a 15-year-old boy, right?”
“These predators are often clearly interested,” Josh explains. But some say, “This could have been a set-up, so we need proof.”
AI provides that evidence and brings them out into the public eye. Josh takes a photo holding up a note with the name of his profile, alters it with AI, and sends a specific real-time pose that predators look for evidence. “I’m real, it matches my photo,” he explains. And most often buy it.
This setting is even more convincing because it uses a real person, but importantly, sharing that person’s likeness does not put real children at risk. Josh can also use similar technology to change his voice when speaking to would-be pedophiles over the phone to be more convincing. Hunters always leave their mark.
