” fanBreakfast at Tiffany’s‘s iconic pearl and James Bond martinis enjoy a black and white theme with a colorful twist. Live music by the Lucky Devils Band will sample songs by ’60s icons Henry Mancini and Burt Bacharach. Guests are expected to dress with an authentic feel, reminiscent of James Bond or Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

“This year’s celebration is a wonderful opportunity to directly impact the thousands of people who need our support each year,” said VVCC Executive Director Kent Ellsworth. “This is also an opportunity to spend a great evening and remind us why we love living in the Verde Valley.”

Proceeds from VVCC’s annual event support programs and services that help seniors and adults with disabilities live independently in their homes.

“Demand for long-distance travel has skyrocketed this year. Last year around this time, we were receiving requests for about five long-distance rides a day. This year, demand for long-distance trips has soared to up to 12 per day. We did,” Ellsworth added. VVCC defines long-distance rides as trips from the Verde Valley to and from medical facilities in Flagstaff, Prescott, or Phoenix.

For six years, VVCC has assisted Shelia, 80, with 29 requests, including grocery shopping, medical trips for knee replacement surgery, and monthly social outings.

After her husband passed away, she went through a period of low energy, but since she recently started attending, she loves social outings.

“The Verde Valley Caregivers Coalition is a lifesaver,” Shelia said.
