Actress Kelly Mac Passes Away
Kelly Mac, known for her role in “The Walking Dead,” died on August 2nd after facing illness.
Her family announced the news via an Instagram post on Tuesday. They shared their grief, saying, “It is an indelible sadness that we announce the passage of dear Kelly. Such a bright, intense light will move beyond and we all have to finally go.”
The post conveyed that Kelly passed away peacefully alongside her mother, Kristen, and a close friend. It also mentioned that she has already visited many loved ones in the form of butterflies.
Mac had been diagnosed with glioma, a type of tumor that affects the spinal cord or brain.
In a heartfelt message, Mac’s sister expressed that “she’ll be overlooked by so many depths that can’t be expressed.” The post went on to detail that a two-page official announcement, including details about her life celebration scheduled for August 16th in Ohio, can be found on Kelly’s Caringbridge link.
Her sister added, “She wants you to know how much she loves you, and as her sister, I want you all to know that tough sob, especially when she decides to make a leap to reunite with God. I’m so proud of her.”
Throughout her career, Mac garnered a total of 35 acting credits as well as five production credits. Her most notable role was as “Addy” in the ninth season of “The Walking Dead.” She also had significant roles in shows like “Chicago Med” and “9-1-1.”
Beyond acting, Mac engaged in commercials and narration work. She featured in advertisements for brands like Ross, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, and Dr. Pepper.
She is survived by her parents, Kristen and Lindsay Klebenow, her sister Kathryn, her brother Parker, and her loved ones, including grandparents Lois, Larry, and Logan Lanier.
