Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – The weather system north of the region will bring widespread light winds over the next few days.
Gusts can reach 20 to 25 miles per hour and are stronger in the southwest corner of Imperial County.
Dry conditions are expected this week, with no rain expected.
However, a flood warning is in effect until Tuesday, May 2nd at 5:00 PM as water discharged from the Painted Rock Dam continues through Yuma County and into the Gila River.
This week will be warmer than normal, with desert highs initially in the high 90s and continuing through the middle of the week.
By the second half of the week, a high-pressure ridge is likely to roll over Arizona, setting off a warming trend as temperatures rise from the high 90s to perhaps around 100 degrees.
The temperature is getting higher, but don’t forget to take measures against the heat, stay hydrated and stay cool.
