Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – Looking back at the maximum temperature in May, there were more days below normal than above the seasonal average.
Temperatures tend to stay below the seasonal average of 100 degrees Celsius during the first few days of June before warmer days begin again.
The first weekend of June begins, and by Saturday, temperatures are expected to be near normal, with highs in the southwestern desert returning to triple digits.
Sunday’s highs will tend to be a few degrees above normal, with gusty winds of up to 20 mph expected.
The Imperial County APCD also issued an Air Quality Alert for the Calexico area due to high levels of ozone (smog). The Air Quality Warning will be in effect on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
