Weather Alert: Gusty winds for Tuesday-Wednesday

Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY-TV) – Dry weather will pass through the area tonight,
Tomorrow will be light to locally windy conditions.

Wind Advisory has been upgraded to High Wind Warning due to gusts reaching 60 MPH in the Imperial Valley. Wind advisories remain in place elsewhere.Gale warning in effect until 5am

Dust and sand can be expected and can impair visibility on the road.

Winds will continue through Wednesday with 15 to 20 mph westerly winds and 30 mph gusts.

Gusts of wind and dusty conditions contribute to unhealthy air quality throughout the region.

The Imperial County APCD has issued an air quality alert for tonight for Imperial County due to increased particulate matter from airborne dust.

Due to persistent winds, we cannot expect the best air quality tomorrow.

Another warm-up arrives over Mother’s Day weekend, with a short cooldown resuming tomorrow before hitting a triple-digit high.

Flood warning extended through 5pm Tuesday, May 16th. This is because the water discharged from the Painted Rock Dam continues through Yuma County and into the Gila River.
