Weather Alters School Schedules in Northern Arizona

Northern Arizona School District adjusts schedule based on weather conditions

In response to the inclement weather, several school districts in northern Arizona announced schedule adjustments. Flagstaff Unified School District, Williams Unified School District and Show Low Unified School District announced Monday school starts would be delayed by two hours.

Certain operational changes

Williams Unified has stipulated that school buses only operate on main roads and not on side streets. Show Low Unified said it will notify families by 5:30 a.m. Monday if a complete cancellation of school becomes necessary. Meanwhile, the Blue Ridge Unified School District opted to remain fully closed Monday and plans to resume normal operations Tuesday.

Other school districts affected

Kayenta Unified School District and White River Unified School District are also scheduled to start two hours later. The decision suggests that Sunday's snowstorm is impacting each region.

Check for updates

Parents and students are encouraged to stay informed of the latest information from their local school district. It's important to note that not all districts will announce cancellations or delays on social media, especially in areas hit by recent snowstorms. Therefore, we recommend checking with your local school district for the most accurate information.
