So, what’s the deal with Democrats?

What is a Democrat?

It’s a tricky topic, maybe more nuanced than it seems.

A few weeks back, Bill Maher had Chris Rufo and Andrew Huberman on his show. If you haven’t seen it, the format usually pits one person from the left against one from the right, alongside a celebrity—or semi-celebrity guest, like Huberman.

What was said by Huberman and Rufo? Well, that’s a bit complex. Rufo tackled the Nixon era while hinting at broader themes.

Rufo has emerged as a prominent figure in activism, pushing to remove “diversity, equity, inclusion” initiatives in favor of a meritocratic system, void of quotas based on race, gender, or sexual orientation.

He did a commendable job.

On the other hand, Huberman has gained fame as a wellness expert and social media influencer. His core message? You can take charge of your health and fitness despite the challenges.

Following their appearances, left-leaning media seemed determined to criticize both, as their views countered the prevailing leftist narrative.

So, it appears that the left acknowledges that topics like race, gender, and sexuality aren’t all that straightforward. Concepts like health, self-improvement, and fitness are somehow branded as “right-wing” ideologies.

The fact that both featured on such a well-watched show—and still maintain significant attention—might be alarming for Democrats, who typically promote contrasting views.

This creates a dilemma for them in the political landscape, especially with their main issues appearing increasingly muddled by human instincts. Adding “America” to the mix just complicates things further.

Allow me to clarify.

What exactly defines Democrats nowadays? Do they have clear principles, or a unified ideology? Can they express a consistent identity?

One of their challenges is their past stance on crime—it wasn’t seen as a problem until it became evident that it was, leading to criticism of law enforcement as they tried to restore order.

Similarly, immigration wasn’t viewed as a crisis until it impacted public perception, prompting a focus on criticizing agents tasked with managing the situation.

Issues regarding trade, particularly concerning Trump and Rubio, put Democrats in a position where they worry about upsetting global economic relations.

As for Tulsi Gabbard, she’s addressing concerns related to surveillance, while discussions around vaccination become contentious. It’s just a swirl of issues.

Yet, Americans generally think independently!

Discussions on military effectiveness are raised. What’s the Democratic response? It seems absent. Should we teach critical theory instead of focusing on military readiness?

Democrats face two major struggles: their viewpoints aren’t resonating with the public, and they lack a cohesive vision.

Everything is expected to be nearly free, imposing a static social hierarchy. And let’s hand over energy decisions to foreign elites. Should we really rely on imported solar panels? Meanwhile, discussions about education and race are being scrutinized.

If this seems illogical, well, it’s a reflection of deeper issues. The overarching idea that tends to surface is “dismantling.” The focus seems to be on erasing fundamental concepts of merit and reality.

With decades of deconstruction behind us, it’s chaotic.

The core issue for Democrats is that they’re often at odds with basic human instincts. They seem intent on stripping away what many instinctively know to be true.

Attempts to do so have, thankfully, appeared unsuccessful.

Many Americans recognize that using race in hiring is wrong. They agree that keeping secrets from parents in schools is unacceptable. The idea of importing countless low-skilled immigrants seems dangerous to them. Likewise, witnessing open drug use on the streets and its consequences is alarming. People know that arresting criminals is essential.

And Trump’s actions against terrorism? They find him justified in that effort. Would anyone really argue against this?

Huberman and Rufo stand in stark contrast to the left’s inconsistent perspectives.

Their ideals champion the essence of American populism. The idea that you can steer your own life is central. Through determination, one can achieve health, success, and happiness. And America, in many ways, is still viewed as the best place for this.

What’s the left’s response? It tends not to be supportive. They seem to downplay individual agency, attributing health issues to systemic oppression instead of personal choice.

People yearn for more than mere hope; they want to believe in their potential and the institutions that back them, especially in America.

But what Democrats seem to offer is a stripping away of basic instincts, called dismantling of reality, and a replacement of personal dreams with a lengthy bureaucratic process.

It feels like Americans are left waiting for their turn to navigate through complexity.

And, honestly, I doubt that’s what we want.
