I’ve been obsessed with the Gambler 500 for the past few years. It’s all about fun, crazy rides, land conservation, and good times. Every year, enthusiastic fans flock to festivals across the country (including Texas).

The Texas panhandle needs more Gambler 500s.

What is Gambler 500?

Get a car as cheaply as you like. Make it funky. keep it funny Build some kind of Mad Max and monster truck rally type vehicles.

Meet other people who have created their own monsters. Rally along the off-road trail. camp. enjoy. Clear the land on the way. Enjoy more.

That’s the basic premise.

Honestly, looking at all the videos I’ve found, I wish there were more events in the panhandle area. I could only find one that happened in the Canadian River in 2017.

Upcoming Gambler Events in Texas/Mexico

coming next month Gambler 500 Mexico: Santa Anna’s RevengeStarting in Tarlingua and across the Mexican border boquillas del carmen.

Then go back again.

Along the way, participants will pick up trash dumped on the land, experience the desert, and party nightly at the camp. The whole thing is 4 days of fun.

I would love to see more like this in the panhandle. G500 We may not have as much land as Mexico, but there must be something we can do. Our area has no shortage of gearheads, car freaks and lunatics in general. You should be able to put something together.

Or you have one road trip to put together. It honestly doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.
