Whit Merrifield Announces Retirement From Baseball In Hilarious Fashion

Ah, this is good…lol.

Whit Merrifield, a Three All Stars Major League Baseball announced his retirement following seven campaigns. And in his announcement posted on social media, Whitt decided to publish “Sorry” to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Merrifield became Philly in 2024, and at the time the organization and fanbase were EC about it. However, he was unable to hit the ball while he was there, and he was separated from Philadelphia. Well, he went down the lane of memory during his announcement, mentioning his time in the city of brotherhood, and man, it’s hilarious.

In the defense of Philadelphia, Merrifield’s stat line in 2024 was extremely scary, averaging .199 in 53 games, with a .572 OPS. Merrifield knocked three home runs and 11 RBIs that season. Later that year, the Phillies dfaged him.

Merrifield spent nine years at MLB, tallying an average of .280 batting, 94 runs and 485 RBI. In 2019, he peaked at a .302 batting average, 16 homers and 74 RBI. He also led the league with 206 hits.

In his announcement, Whitt said one of the biggest reasons he retired was to have a baby in 2024 with his wife Jordan Michael.
