‘White Fragility’ Author Robin DiAngelo Allegedly Plagiarized Minority Scholars In Doctoral Thesis

Robin DiAngelo is facing allegations of plagiarism, according to a complaint recently filed with the University of Washington, the Free Beacon reports.

of Complaints The author of the book “White Fragility” is accused of failing to properly cite or attribute sources, including the work of several minority scholars, in his doctoral dissertation, “Whiteness in Interracial Dialogue: A Discourse Analysis.” According to The 2004 doctoral dissertation, submitted to the Free Beacon, purportedly contains anonymous material from Northeastern University's Thomas Nakayama and co-author Robert Krizek, as well as material from Stacey Lee, an Asian American professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

“The paper was a summary of third-party research that DiAngelo presented as his own analysis, allegedly misleading readers. Peter Wood, president of the American Association of Scholars, likened some of the academic practices in DiAngelo's paper to fabrication.”

“It's never appropriate to use secondary sources without citing them, and even worse to present them as your own,” Wood said, according to the Free Beacon. “That's plagiarism.”

In a previous statement, she said she was responsible. WebsiteDiAngelo advises her white allies about the importance of acknowledging the influence that Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC) people have on their thinking.

The University of Washington has not yet responded to the plagiarism allegations, and D'Angelo has not publicly commented on the matter. The Daily Caller has reached out to D'Angelo for comment but has not yet heard back.
