White Sox To Hire Will Venable As Manager In Move That Could Boost Chicago Out Of Losing Culture

I’m interested in this move by the White Sox.

On Tuesday, his 42nd birthday, news broke late at night that Will Venable would be the next manager of the Chicago White Sox. He becomes the 44th player in team history. The White Sox themselves have not officially commented. MLB official website confirmed the news. Venable has a rich history with baseball. He spent 2018-19 with the Chicago Cubs as a special assistant to president Theo Epstein before being named third base coach in 2020. In 2021, he left the organization to become the bench coach for the Boston Red Sox. He served in that role in both 2021 and 2022. Most recently, he was with the Texas Rangers, working as Bruce Bochy’s associate manager for the past two seasons.

He won a World Series championship ring with the Rangers in 2023.

Guaranteed employment by the White Sox…no. strong He was hired by the White Sox.

Honestly, I don’t think Chicago could have done better than Will Venable under the current circumstances. Well, I didn’t expect them to do this well. I mean, damn, they were able to get a guy with a sexy resume (been with iconic clubs like the Cubs and Red Sox, won a World Series with the Rangers), that’s pretty impressive is. Venable could definitely have done a better job.

The White Sox deserve credit for a great way to begin their recovery from this terrible historical disaster. 41-121 season.
