Yavapai Firewise invites you to attend the annual Wildfire Expo on April 22nd from 9am to 2pm on the Cortez Street side of Prescott Courthouse Square. Join us in celebrating Earth Day while learning valuable information about staying safe in the event of a wildfire.
The whole family can see the latest firefighting equipment and emergency equipment. Meet local firefighters, emergency first responders, and agencies working hard to keep you and your property safe. Take a photo with Smokey the Bear! This year, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Jeep Posse will deploy emergency command vehicles to the scene, and the Red Cross will deploy emergency response vehicles.
Is your community Firewise? Members of Yavapai Firewise and representatives from his Firewise site will be in attendance to answer questions and provide valuable information. Also, ask the Master Gardeners at the U of A Cooperative Extension for advice on fire-resistant plants for landscaping. Take important steps to ensure your home, family, and pets are as prepared and protected as possible.
Yavapai Firewise is made up of federal, state, county, and city agency representatives in partnership with volunteers, businesses, and community leaders. The purpose of Yavapai Firewise is to reduce the threat of wildfires, help communities achieve and maintain Firewise certification, and promote forest health in Yavapai County.
