Wildflower Walk – Session 2 (Registration required. Limit 20 participants) – Plants – Events

Ranger Nikki will lead you on an easy to moderate terrain 2-mile walk to learn about common spring wildflowers and flowering shrubs. Possible sightings include fiddleneck, poppies, lupine, scorpionweed, brittlebush, globemallow and more! You can also learn how to document your findings on the citizen science app, iNaturalist. The route uses Overton, Clay Mine, Go John, Jasper and Slate trails to make a loop. The trail surface is rocky and the terrain ranges from level to uneven. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Bring a camera and notebook to log your observations. This walk has two sessions: 8:30-10:30am and 11am-1pm. Please indicate your session preference when registering. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and Trailhead.


MEETING LOCATION: Overton Trailhead next to the Nature Center.


Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with the Session number, your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Tuesday, March 12.
