A jury found a former Las Vegas Democratic officeholder guilty of murdering a reporter.

The Nevada Current reported at the time that authorities had found evidence linking Telles to German's murder in 2022. Police reportedly said Telles' DNA was recovered at the murder scene. Authorities also found bloodstains on Telles' shoes during a search of the home, the outlet reported.
“Finally, today's sentence should send a message, and that message is that silencing or intimidating journalists will not be tolerated. That is what happened in this case and that is why justice was served today,” said Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson. According to 8NewsNow.
Wolfson said Telles now faces three possible sentences: life without parole, life with the possibility of parole after serving a minimum of 20 years, or a 50-year sentence with the possibility of parole after serving 20 years, the outlet reported.
