New York Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer did the worst last week.
he introduced Specification This suggests that the U.S. government or its contractors may store “biological evidence of living or dead non-human intelligence.”
(Now there is a sentence that no one expected to write.) (Related: William O’Reilly: How to ruin a thriving city within 10 years)
Why would Schumer, a perfectly purposeful politician, do such a thing? Does he not know that he risks being ridiculed?
It’s tempting to wonder if the senior senator in New York knows something is going on. Or he thinks it’s safe to go out there because 65% of Americans believe in UFOs and Republican senators like Mike Rounds of South Dakota and Marco Rubio of Florida are unscathed by extraterrestrial tales.
Whatever the reason, it’s worth noting that Senate Majority Leaders have suggested that the U.S. government may be stuffing little green humans into meat lockers somewhere deep in the New Mexico desert. non?
It’s entirely possible, and certainly to the skeptics, that nothing will be found from the various federal investigations into aviation anomalies. But what if there is? What if secret government forces have indeed been hiding evidence of extraterrestrial life for perhaps decades? What would that say about our government?
I usually avoid talking about America’s “deep state.” But that doesn’t mean I’m over my head. I know, for example, that the federal government is partisan and cynical deals are always being cut – think Hunter Biden – but I have always thought the politicized term “deep state” is psychologically dangerous for a country that needs to maintain at least some degree of trust in government.
But if Schumer, Rubio, Lowndes, and at least a dozen other members of Congress are proven correct, that they have been systematically excluded from earth-shattering information, then deep state problems will arise that extend well beyond the inner workings of the FBI, for example. We will face a real national crisis.
Many years ago, I was struck by an interview with President Barack Obama about UFOs. The former president hinted that information about them would somehow exceed his level of authorization. What? Wasn’t he the Supreme Commander?
Other presidents have made similar statements, and one can only ask how it is possible that elected leaders down to the Oval Office have been kept secret about perhaps the most important investigation in human history, as Mr. Schumer is doing through his bill.
Certainly, there are things that the public does not need to know. For example, nuclear blueprints and battle plans. But this? ! How could “they” keep the existential significance away from the general public?
We find ourselves lost in potential stupidity here. So keep going unabated. Please say it’s true. Suppose a super secret society has been operating in America for decades. Say that crude late-night documentary about the alien crash in Area 51 turned out to be right. Why not share that information with John and Jane Q?
We have a lot. First, how will the public react? Let’s see what happened when “War of the Worlds” aired. What does that mean for world religions? Their basic beliefs can be upended in an instant. Or maybe the crashed spacecraft material was reverse engineered by our military. You don’t want Russians or Chinese to know, do you?
All of these points were valid, but none of them were convincing. Ever since humans first staggered on two legs, we have wondered if we were alone in the universe. If we have conclusive evidence that we are not, we have an absolute right to know.
If the ongoing federal investigation turns out to be questionable, we’ll all have a good laugh, Chuck included. But if they reach Paydirt, it will be the time for “Nanu Nanu” and all that will come with it.
Just a strange day in Washington.
