Williams 911: Dec. 31 – Jan. 13 | Williams-Grand Canyon News

Williams Police Department (WPD) responded to the following service requests (among other things) —

• Officers responded to several snow slides and shoveled the car back onto the road.

• Police responded to a threatening call at Love’s Travel Stop about a truck driver arguing that someone was disconnecting a fuel pump line.

• Officers responded to an unharmed accident at the Grand Canyon and I-40 and to a truck that backed up to three other semi-trucks.

• Police responded to Cureton Park about illegal dumping. A large stuffed chair was dumped into the stream. No suspect was found and the chair was moved to a transfer station.

• Officers responded to medical assistance reports of infants who may have ingested bleach. The child was evaluated by medical personnel.

• Police responded to the disturbance behind a local bar. A drunken subject was banging on the door. Contact was made and it was determined that subject was in the wrong residence. He was redirected to the right place.

• The office responded to reports of employee issues at the Senior Center.

• Officers contacted subjects camped in the visitor center parking lot and demanded money. He was trespassed and informed of camps and no night parking ordinances.

• Officers responded to reports of accidents in which a snowplow hit a tree and the tree hit a vehicle.

• Officers conducted a welfare check on the subject’s family who had not been contacted for two years. Subject was confirmed dead several months ago.

• Officers provided advanced assistance for women during snowstorms in need of assistance.

• Officers responded to reports of criminal damage to US flags outside local businesses. A woman was arrested for destroying a flag. She was imprisoned in the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office jail.
