A strong winter storm passing through southeastern Arizona today brings high winds for most of the day.
Sunny weather from the west is expected this afternoon, followed by a cold front. Tucson National Weather Service predict.
Gusts in the area can reach around 60 mph and high winds are advised here until 8pm
The Catalina Highway, the road to Mount Lemmon, was closed due to wind and icy roads.

The Tucson gust day is part of a winter storm across the United States, reports the Associated Press.
The storm will bring strong winds strong enough to topple power lines and trees in the southwest. Today’s gusts could reach 55 mph in the capital city of Phoenix.
Other cities in the southwest will experience higher wind speeds, dust and snow.
Up to 1 foot of snow can fall in northern Arizona, but the lower the elevation, the less snowfall.
Some Flagstaff schools announced closures ahead of the storm. According to the Associated Press, weather forecasters and local and state officials encouraged drivers to stay off the road.
The storm system carries over to New Mexico, where strong winds, rain and snow are likely across the state on Wednesday, including the Albuquerque area. Strong wind warnings are in effect for much of New Mexico through Thursday morning, with winds up to 70 mph.
Those wind speeds could also hit Nevada, and forecasters issued a dust advisory for Clark County, which includes Las Vegas.
