Winter storm moving into Arizona; up to 6 inches of snow possible in Flagstaff

Phoenix (3TV/CBS 5) – Another winter storm is moving to Arizona after a quiet and mild weekend. Highs in the Valley are just 60 degrees today and 58 degrees on Tuesday, with possible rain both days.

A low-pressure system down the California coast is pumping moisture into Arizona this morning. Northern Arizona will have a winter weather advisory in place at 5,000 feet and above until noon tomorrow, and we should see some light snow in the country today. Flagstaff said he should be up 1-3 inches today and another 1-3 inches tonight.

The chance of rain in the valley is close to 30% today and close to 50% tonight and tomorrow. Rainfall can be as low as less than a quarter inch. More heavy rain is possible in the southwestern part of the state.

By Wednesday, dry weather will return to the state, with a significant return to near-normal temperatures for this time of year. The next weekend looks to be sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast for next week, but at the moment it’s trending towards below-normal temperatures and dry weather. Stay up to date with us!
