The 18-year-old woman also reportedly told police she was pregnant with his child, according to the outlet.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the man leaving. The man told police he met Thomas a week prior on a dating app, according to KRCG. The two communicated through the app and then moved to text messaging. The suspect was detained for over an hour.
The woman met a man online and arranged a date, but when she wanted to cancel, she called the police and falsely accused the man of assault.
In my opinion, he would have been better off with the police.https://t.co/r3KhscZS8q

The man, whose name has not been released, reportedly showed officers text message exchanges, which police say were enough to corroborate his story. (Related article: Report: Police arrest 23-year-old man for making too many phone calls; he allegedly fell brain dead while in custody).
According to a KRCG report, during police questioning, Thomas maintained that he had known the suspect for two years, that he had abused him in the past, and that he would not leave him alone.
It was only during her third interview with police that Thomas admitted the accusations were false, the outlet reported. She eventually told police she felt anxious about seeing him and had decided she no longer wanted to go on dates with him.
According to KCRG, Thomas was arrested and charged with one count of making a false 911 report and two counts of “falsely reporting an indictable offense to a public authority.”
