Authorities have arrested a suspect in a hate crime linked to anti-Israel protests for vandalizing the home of the Brooklyn Museum's director on June 12, according to the New York Post.
The NYPD's Hate Crimes Unit arrested Taylor Pelton, 28, on suspicion of hate crime vandalism after he was accused of attacking the Brooklyn Heights home of Anne Pasternak, the Jewish director of the Brooklyn Museum, on June 12. according to In the New York Post.

Pelton was allegedly one of five masked vandals who threw red paint at Pasternak's door and held up a banner that read, “Anne Pasternak Brooklyn Museum White Supremacy Zionist.” The door was also spray-painted with an upside-down red triangle, a symbol previously used by Hamas to identify Israeli military targets, the outlet reported.

In addition to the attack, Pelton is also accused of vandalizing another building on Douglas Street in Cobble Hill with red paint that morning, for which she faces hate crime and criminal damage charges, according to the New York Post. Authorities are also investigating whether the attack is linked to other similar incidents of vandalism, including one that took place the same day at the German Consulate at United Nations Plaza in Manhattan, according to the New York Post. No arrests have been made in that case. Investigators are looking into possible links between those incidents and other incidents of vandalism in the city.
