Emma Halkowitz said her mother was injured and required nine stitches after a beer can was thrown by a crowd at a Hulk Hogan event on Monday.

According to police reports, Halkowitz's mother was injured when Hulk Hogan and his associates began throwing beer cans at the crowd at the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina, Ohio. Police said the event was being held to promote his new drink, “Real American Beer.” TMZ SportsThe 50-year-old woman claims she was hit in the head with a flying beer can, and authorities said she was seen bleeding after the blow. According to TMZ, she claims she needed nine stitches near her hairline to close a deep cut caused by the aluminum can.

The injured woman was offered an ambulance to take her to the hospital but declined, and according to TMZ, she eventually made it to the hospital on her own and needed treatment for her wounds.

She claimed that Hulk Hogan himself threw the can that hit her, but according to TMZ, other witnesses to the event say the can was thrown into the crowd by “another crew member.”

Video footage from the event shows at least five people on stage excitedly throwing beer cans at people lined up on the venue's floor, and at one point an announcer can be heard telling guests not to throw any more cans.

“We're not going to throw beer. We don't want anybody to get hurt,” one man told the crowd. (RELATED: Hulk Hogan rescues woman after horrific car crash)

Police have ruled the incident an accident and closed the case, according to TMZ.
